A Chistmas Gift? Veterans May Face New VR&E Delays For The Holidays
We have bad news emanating from the frigid land of the Department of Veterans Affairs, where veterans will not receive urgently needed services for vocational training and other benefits.
Good news, bad news.
Good news, Christmas is coming, so we get to spend time with family and friends.
Bad news, the Department of Veterans Affairs is in freeze where apparently the use of certain contractors to complete needed tasks like evaluations for Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) may be on hold.
For those who rely on this support, particularly veterans who need training or other critical assistance, the situation has become a significant challenge due to recent policy changes.
Here is one impacted veteran from our VR&E Facebook group:

The Challenge for Veterans
Imagine discovering that the support you critically need might not arrive for years. This is the reality facing many veterans today. The VR&E program, which helps veterans transition effectively back into civilian life by providing necessary support for training and employment, has hit a major roadblock.
While some are already familiar with the ongoing hiring freeze previously denied by the Biden Administration last February (they liked to call it a hiring chill, instead), some additional news is coming out of a little program they call Veteran Readiness and Employment.
An insider report suggests VR&E may have halted its use of government contractors who typically conduct vital assessments. These assessments are key to determining veterans’ needs and ensuring they receive the necessary support.
This situation is akin to Uncle Sam signaling a delay in promised support, dubbed humorously as a ‘gift’ reserved for years to come, specifically, until at least 2025.
Key Discoveries Impacting Veteran Support
Several disturbing discoveries have arisen due to this policy shift:
- Immediate Delays in Support: Veterans who would otherwise receive timely benefits now face long waits. This has been ongoing for the past year. With contractors unable to perform assessments, veterans may be left in limbo, missing out on critical opportunities for training and job placement.
- Ripple Effects Across Services: This issue likely doesn’t just affect the VR&E assessments. The ripple effect could extend to other areas like disability compensation evaluations.
Strategies for Veterans in Uncertain Times
Navigating these uncertain times demands certain strategies. Here’s what veterans can consider:
- Documentation Preparedness: Ensure all personal and service-related documents are organized and up-to-date. This can help expedite any process once assessments resume.
- Seek Alternative Support: Investigate other programs and non-profit organizations that can provide interim support. Many organizations offer assistance, albeit not always as comprehensive as VR&E.
Practical Action Steps for Veterans
- Stay Informed: Keep abreast of any updates from the VA regarding changes in policy or procedure that could affect eligibility and timing for benefits.
- Network with Other Veterans: Create support networks with fellow veterans to share information and resources. Peer advice can be invaluable in discovering alternative aid pathways.
- Contact Representatives: Reach out to local and national representatives to voice concerns and seek their support in addressing these delays.
Future Predictions: Trends in Veteran Support
Given the current scenario, several trends are likely to emerge:
- Increased Reliance on Technology: The delays might push for more automated and digital solutions in assessments, potentially speeding up the support process once hurdles are overcome.
- Growth of Alternate Support Networks: Non-governmental agencies might see increased demand, evolving to fill the gaps left by government program delays.
Recommended Tools and Frameworks
- Veteran Assistance Apps: Utilize apps designed for veterans, which often provide resources and networks for support, employment opportunities, and healthcare services.
- Online Training Resources: In the absence of timely VR&E support, online educational platforms can offer training and skill development for future employment opportunities.
These changes and roadblocks encountered by veterans illustrate the need for resilience and adaptability in the face of governmental administrative challenges. While the VR&E’s disruptions pose significant hurdles, understanding and preparing for these changes is crucial for veterans striving to transition smoothly into civilian life.
The Veterans Healthcare Administration has no serious oversight and Congress can’t make these people do anything. That’s up to federal courts and they’re derelict in their duties in our democracy. That’s why certain people at VA are able to get away with the abuse and denial of care. And the executive branch propagandists just keep on parroting about how it’s as good as private care. It’s not. I’ve seen it. The VA is a magnet for all the cess out there and they don’t pay for the consequences of their actions. They don’t take grievances seriously. Need to be sued into oblivion.

There 2 new articles that need attention. VA abuse bakers act in Florida to kidnap veterans. One veteran said he never ask for help again than 6 months later committed suicide. Fox news reporting VA having orgies instead of helping veterans

VA Secretary Denis McDonough said years ago to employees not to worry about being fired if they “try new things.” You know how stupid that is in today’s political environment and with some of the philosophy present in the psychology field? These idiots already have immunity!
ref: Increased Reliance on Technology and Veteran Assistance Apps, I am not a illiterate computer person
that being said. this VA reliance on increased technology and the use of so called apps to absurd. EG the forced use of login.gov in place of My Healthy Veteran, this program is composed by morons and creates a useless waste of time and resources that could be better directed. Example, travel pay, I have had the need to file a lot of travel claims, this program if you8 can even get in it is that it does not work, my claims they say were processed and paid no transfer of funds to the bank, repeated contact with the travel department head can find the fix, he states he cannot get into login.gov. then the reductions in refunds, $18.00 for claims, reduced lodging by 50%, travel mileage $.41.5 while all Federal Employees get $.67 per mile. Training via ?apps who are they kidding etc etc etc went did this get told to the veteran etc who authorized these changes. Because of the great VA drop in service after three years they finally gave me an annual, finding that I require a prostate removal and a kidney removal, was this timely ?I think not. early detection is critical in these matters what others worse scenarios are ahead because of a three year delay? Why do they not just kill us outright without all this bullshit that dump on us.
